How to Edit Like a Pro in Kinemaster

After following these steps you will be able to edit your videos, but if you want to become a pro at editing then practice again and again.

Step-by-step guide on how to use Kinemaster

Step 1: Choose a project

  • After clicking the Create New button, choose the aspect ratio for your project. For example, 16:9 is landscape mood for “YouTube videos” & 9:16 is portrait mood for “YouTube shorts” and 1:1 is for social media platforms known as “Instagram”.
  • Tap “Create” to start a new project or “Open” to continue working on existing projects.

Step 2: Import media files

  • Choose the suggested source for your media files, such as your device’s storage or Kinemaster Asset Store.
  • Select the media files you want to use in your project, then tap on the file to continue.

Step 3: Arrange Media on Timeline

  • Media files will appear in the timeline after exporting.
  • Hold the media file, to rearrange the order of your media files.
  • For adjusting your clip duration use pinch gestures.

Step 4: Editing Tools

  • To select a media file in “Timeline” simply tap on it.
  • Use editing tools to edit your video in your way.
  • Trim: Use handles on either side of the clip to reduce its time duration.
  • Split: Use the scissor icon to divide the clip into parts.
  • Speed: Use to adjust the playback speed of the video.
  • Volume: Use to increase or decrease the volume of the clip.
  • Effects: Effects and Filters improve the look of your video.

Step 5: Adding Texts and Effects

  • Tap the “Layers” icon at the top right corner of your project screen to access additional layers.
  • You can add “Text” to your clips using the “Text layer.”
  • Customize the text by using different fonts, colors, sizes, and animations.
  • Choose the “Effect Layer” to apply the effects and overlay. Check the available effects and tap on effect to apply it to your clip.

Step 6: Audio Editing

  • Access Audio Editing options by tapping on the “Audio” icon at the top right corner of the screen.
  • Import your audio files or use the given audio tracks.
  • Adjust the volume of each audio track to get the desired audio mix.
  • Use the options “Fade In” and “Fade Out” to smoothly transition the audio yourself.

Step 7: Transitions

  • To add different transitions between the clips on the timeline, Tap the “Transition” icon.
  • To adjust the time duration of the transition, simply click on transition and select the provided time play.

Step 8: Preview and Fine Tune

  • Press the “Play Button” on the project screen to preview your final video.
  • Adjust the timing, effects, transitions, or other elements.
  • Continue previewing and fine-tuning the video until you are not satisfied with the final result.

Step 9: Export and share

  • Tap the “Export Button” to export the final video.
  • Choose the HD resolution for your video.
  • Tap “Export” to start the exporting.
  • When you export a video, the mobile storage will directly save the files, and the app will give you direct share links to post your clip on social media.
